Sydney Rock Climbers Bushcare wins Regional Landcare Award

Well done all happy bitou-bashers! Your efforts have been awarded the Regional Landcare Awards – Coastcare Award at the 2015 Landcare Bushcare Forum held at the Sydney Botanical Gardens last week.

This award is made to a community group/network for excellence in activities that have contributed to the significant improvement of local coastal and/or marine environments, including estuaries, coastal and marine wetlands and salt marsh ecosystems.

As well as a nice plaque we received a generous gift voucher to spend at Woolies/Masters Hardware/Dan Murphy’s. Suffice to say out next working bee will be very well catered!! We can possibly also use these funds to purchase some ropes & equipment to access the steeper terrain safely.

Thankyou everybody for your efforts over the years helping remove invasive weeds and protect the natural environment at Barrenjoey Headland.
